Acquired through the generosity of the Harris McCoy Family of North Side, the McCoy Collection is comprised of winning art items from the annual McCoy Prize Art Competition held since 2001.

ABOUT THE MCCOY PRIZE:
In order to encourage and reward excellence in Caymanian produced art, photography and craft/artisanry. Eligible applicants must be Caymanian, over 18 years of age, and active members of the arts community, with a history of producing and exhibiting recent original works of art, photography and craft/artisanry for at least two consecutive years. The Prize is awarded to one Caymanian artist, one Caymanian photographer, and one Caymanian craftsperson/artisan, whose work demonstrates a high standard of achievement and a substantial development of style due to commitment, dedication and the pursuit of knowledge in their chosen medium.
The last McCoy Prize Competition was held in 2007.

The Real McCoy
For more than eighty years, the McCoy family of North Side have believed in and supported the talent of Caymanian artists and artisans, and have encouraged all things Caymanian. From the exhibition of the same name, The Real McCoy is an brochure documenting a collection of Caymanian furniture privately owned by the family. The Real McCoy is available for sale in the Museum Shop.
