Educational Programmes Overview
Educational Philosophy:
Where there are people there is culture and where there is culture there are beautiful and unique things to experience. Culture gives colour to life.
A relatively new area of the Museum’s work, the education programme is a multi-faceted initiative with the overall goal of raising general public awareness of the Museum and its goals.
This will be achieved through engaging target groups such as schoolchildren in order to build their connections with the Museum; developing dramatizations, for live as well as video presentations, as a means of enriching exhibit experiences and tapping into local funding; and forming a troupe of players that can be called upon to perform storytelling, skits, dances, and puppetry.
On the drawing board are plans for the introduction of a Museum Award in the literary arts, targeting students. Another planned initiative is the production of small story/colouring books/pamphlets to add to younger audience’s Museum experience. Poetry and art workshops for this age group are also on the agenda.
The introduction of a training programme for young tour guides is also under consideration, and cultural exchange opportunities are being investigated.
Viewers should stay tuned for developments in this area.
