On Friday, 16th August, a group of nearly 30 visitors from Missouri were treated by the Cayman Islands National Museum (‘CINM’) to an exclusive guided tour of the Cayman Collections Centre in West Bay. Leading the tour was the dynamic Miss Tunisia Barnes of the Ministry of Youth, Sports & Heritage. Miss Barnes provided an engaging introduction to the rich cultural heritage of the Cayman Islands through the Museum's extensive collection.

The group was visiting Grand Cayman for a weekend of musical enjoyment with two-time Grammy award-winning songwriter Paul Overstreet, who is known for penning numerous classic country hits such as “Won’t Take Less of Your Love” (recorded by Tanya Tucker), “Love Can Build a Bridge” (recorded by The Judds), and multiple chart-topping singles recorded by Randy Travis, including “On the Other Hand,” “Diggin' Up Bones,” and “Forever and Ever, Amen.”

In addition to the cultural tour of the Cayman Collections Centre, the visitors enjoyed memorable evenings at local restaurants with the Overstreets, and also embarked on a catamaran excursion, during which they enjoyed singing along with Paul. The stunning backdrop of Grand Cayman’s pristine waters no doubt added to the magic of the moment.

For many, this was their first experience of Grand Cayman, so the CINM was delighted to add some cultural interest to make the group’s weekend extra special.
